I picked up an old CD player for my car, a Pioneer DEH-425. It cost me seven dollars.
I installed it in my Saturn today. It was straight forward for the most part – except that there was no wiring for the new head unit. For some reason I had a really hard time finding a pinout diagram for the back of the Pioneer head unit.
So I’m posting a copy of what I came up with here in case anyone else is having trouble installing an eleven year old car stereo and doesn’t want to buy the ten dollar adapter on ebay.
The colours in this diagram may only apply to older North American cars. The diagram is for older radios with a 2 x 6 pin (12 pin) connector.
